In Fifth Grade,

students will have the opportunity to study a trimester of all three languages offered at Dawson:

Spanish, French and Mandarin.  In sixth grade, students will choose one of these languages to study further.

Fifth Grade Mandarin students will learn to introduce themselves in Mandarin through the use of stories, songs, videos, grammar and vocabulary study. They will demonstrate their learning through the presentation of mini-dialogues, speaking, reading, plays and other multimedia presentations.  Students will conclude their trimester Mandarin study with a virtual tour of China.  They will explore its land, traditions and cultures.
